The #DriveTo75

I LOVE POTENTIAL! You must first know that about me. I love celebrating what is and then creating what can be. I love witnessing the wake up of someone to their magnificence. I love witnessing someone’s discovery of their unique purpose on this planet. I love witnessing the stretch of what’s possible. #Driveto75 is exactly that. It’s a conversation that started at Bodhi last Sunday. #Driveto75 is a special intention to kick off a response to a financial gap we are currently experiencing.

Our Core Council, Practitioner Council and Staff got together last Saturday and said “Okay, it’s time to kick it into high gear.” We’ve had a few things occur over the last several months that are calling us into greater and deeper spiritual practice and swift and shared responsibility.

So here’s the skinny: our year to date income is $402,000. We budgeted for $430,000 by this time. That means we have a $30,000 gap most of which occurred in July—I say NO to a summer slump; we don’t play by those rules! We walk in a state of sufficiency! Additionally we have incurred over $40,000 in expenditures related to our dispute with the United Church of Christ regarding our tenant and purchase rights. (For more information please read our Building Update Letter and our most recent Core Council Letter.) Hence #Driveto75: an invitation to help us raise $75,000 by August 31, 2015.

Each member of our Core Council has given above and beyond their current financial giving practice. The ten of us have given $20,300 of the $27,900 manifested for #Driveto75 thus far … that is powerful! If you are already a committed giver I wonder if you would consider giving an additional gift to help us close the gap. I am a creative being, as are you and I want to express the potential of this infinite thing called Life and the bold and brilliant idea called Bodhi. Manifesting $75,000 by August 31, 2015 is a fun and meaningful way to do that together!

For 15 years I affirmed that “my life’s work is a self expression of who I say I am in the world—alive, powerful, free, dynamic, inspiring and fun!” For many of those years my “work” did not seem to reflect that intention. Bodhi gave me the practical tools to bring that possibility to life. I have been transformed by our Classes, Workshops, Sacred Service and Celebration Services such that I give my life to making this place available for as many people as want it.

We are just scratching the surface of who Bodhi is for Chicago and the world.

Now is a PERFECT time for each of us to give a little more … stretching is good, it calls us to lean into our faith, to trust there is a power for good greater than our circumstances and to know the perfection of what is right before us!
