Opening:

2012 Bank of America Aurora; Personal Banker Sylvia

Babysitter – afraid to go to the airport

NWLD – people don’t want to pay what American laborers would require

  • SLIDE: Humanity: compassionate, sympathetic, or generous behavior or disposition
  • IRS data, from 2015, agency received 4.4 million income tax returns from workers who don’t have Social Security numbers, includes a large number of undocumented immigrants. That year, they paid $23.6 billion in income taxes.
  • Those undocumented workers paid taxes for benefits they can’t use, like Social Security and Medicare. They also aren’t eligible for benefits like the earned income tax credit.

There’s a myth that you can immigrate legally so you should just follow the rules. That’s not actually how people come here.

Objectives:

  • Clarify context of today’s discord in consciousness
  • Develop a devotional practice of Oneness
  • Identify the ways separation reveals itself in your individual life and in our collective landscape

Keywords/Stories/Points:

  • SLIDE: When we are unconscious, fear leads and humanity leaves. – Lola Wright
  • We are oriented around survival and all we can see is ourselves.
      • Fighting for our soul – will be oriented by fear or rise in Love
    • The Bible – a mythology written by poets and philosophers to given meaning and purpose to the human experience.
  • SLIDE: Then God said, Let us make man in our image; after our likeness. — Genesis 1:26
        • What is God and who are you in relationship to It?
  • SLIDE: GOD TEMPTS NO MAN. It is a mistake to say that God tries us. God tries no man. We make our own mistakes, suffer from our own foolishness, and we must also make our own return journey into righteousness. God was, is and will remain, the Essence of Life, Truth and Purity. Let us enter this Essence in belief and be freed from our unbelief and human mistakes. – Science of Mind by Ernest Holmes (p. 499)
            • God is ALL there is – one thing happening here. EVERY being we meet is an encounter with God, an encounter with Love, an encounter with Joy.
              • How could we separate families? How could we criminalize people?
                • By turning off our Unity and asserting duality. By developing narratives that permeate the mind suggesting that evil is real.
    • Politics – she should not be talking about that here…
  • SLIDE: When we forget that politics is about weaving a fabric of compassion and justice on which everyone can depend, the first to suffer are the most vulnerable among us—our children, our elderly, our mentally ill, our poor, and our homeless. As they suffer, so does the integrity of our democracy. — Parker Palmer
    • The Virus of Fear
      • Vi·rus – an infective agent, is too small to be seen by light microscopy, and is able to multiply only within the living cells of a host. *will take over the host’s function*
  • SLIDE: Our present administration is desperately attaching itself to the consciousness of fear under which this country was formed – it is a virus and you do not want to catch it — you have been exposed and are very vulnerable. Inoculate yourself with Truth and stay alive. – Lola Wright
        • Challenge of today is an awakening of the shadow of this country is occurring. We are in a reconciliation of our past. There is a great effort to reassert the ills that this country was formed on.
      • I have seen in conscious and compassionate community the ugliness of separation..in a community that stands for the revelation of Love how challenging that proposition can be.
  • SLIDE: You have been exposed to fear and are very vulnerable. Inoculate yourself with Truth and stay alive. – Lola Wright
  • Our development was stunted at times of great trauma – our responsibility to do the work within ourselves and on behalf of our ancestors to right our wrongs and disrupt the cognitive emotive loop that perpetuates the story.
    • Colonization
    • Slavery
    • The Great Depression
    • Vietnam War

Summary:

  • Crisis of hate. This is about voting to maintain a white and Christian society.
    • We want immigrants here and we want them here illegally. I don’t want to live in that kind of a society.
    • SLIDE: We believe immigration is a holy quest motivated by an intention for freedom, abundance and peace, and must be honored with a spirit of generosity, consideration, curiosity, and welcome – realizing our Oneness with all beings on the planet.

Closing:
Prayer & Meditation
