On Sunday, Rev. Lola Wright continued our February series, “Sacred Sexuality,” with her message, “Radically Loving.”

Notes

Opening:
Oh Beloved – Rûmi
Oh Beloved,
take me.
Liberate my soul.
Fill me with your love and
release me from the two worlds.
If I set my heart on anything but you
let fire burn me from inside.
Oh Beloved,
take away what I want.
Take away what I do.
Take away what I need.
Take away everything
that takes me from you.

This is the invitation of radically loving that I extend to us this day “let fire burn me from inside” – awaken me – light me up!

Would you be willing to be aroused by God – stirred by God – awakened by God – lit up by God?

Would you be willing to be aroused by Love – stirred by Love – awakened by Love – lit up by Love?

We are in a sleepy state of seduction. We are deeply entrenched in a psychosis of fear. We are anesthetized to our union with one another…so much so that we have a discretionary federal budget that allocates 55% to the Department of Defense, 7.5% Department of Veteran Affairs, 6.5% Department of Education,

It is time to let the fire burn us from inside such that we may
WAKE UP!

SLIDE: A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual death. – Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

“Spiritual death” is the separation from God – the separation from Love!

So, WHY are we a nation that spends more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift?

BE FOR SOMETHING AGAINST NOTHING!
The soul of humanity, the body of God is evolving and readying itself
SLIDE: The essence of love pervades everything, fires the heart, stimulates the emotions, renews the soul and proclaims the Spirit. – The Science of Mind by Ernest Holmes

Objectives:
We must look at the thing in back of the thing – the consciousness that creates a thing
We must transcend our dualistic wiring and go into a devotional practice of Oneness
Radically Loving is healing the lie of separation
Radically Loving is the fire that burns from inside me

Keywords/Stories/Points:
Radical – an extreme or progressive change/shift
SLIDE: Love is the self-givingness of the Spirit expressing Itself in terms of creation; a cosmic force whose sweep is irresistible. – The Science of Mind by Ernest Holmes

To know your creative power or to be at the effect of the world
SLIDE: To every problem in my world, I now speak the truth. I say of these, that they are insults to the God-given intelligence within me. I now take dominion over my consciousness. I am in control of my world, and I release God into it, until there is nothing to see there but good. – Ernest Holmes

Our priorities/orientation is sleepy – accumulation of wealth, individualism, winning/beating

The power of young people and social media. Why is Parkland unique? Why police brutality more discussed than ever before? We are being forced to look at a thing.
Awakening occurring on the planet today – realizing in order to transform a thing we have to look at a thing. No matter how ugly, how painful in order to shift consciousness you have to be able to see what you’re shifting.
Identify with the spiritual universe vs the material universe
Do you spiritually understand what is going on right now?

How do we bring forward the best that is in us?
SLIDE: The temporal imperfection of the human cannot dim the eternal integrity of the Divine. The best that is in us is God. – The Hidden Power Of The Bible by Ernest Holmes (based on John 14:1)

Summary:
40 by 40 – will you join me in a practice of radically loving – that does not mean an apathetic, listless, limp love…it means a radical love
