Our June series is titled “You Are Never Alone.” Our exploration in June is based on the Hebrew Bible scripture found in the Book of Joshua chapter 1 verse 9: Behold I have commanded you. Be strong and of good courage; fear not, neither be dismayed; for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Behold I have commanded you. Be strong and of good courage; fear not, neither be dismayed; for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
— Joshua 1:9

Loneliness is one of the deepest soul’s journeys. It is the greatest and most frequent concern heard in all of our classes and community interactions. No amount of human interaction, social calendaring or activity will ever soothe the soul suffering with loneliness. It is the awakening to the God within that ultimately comforts the soul.

As we study sacred texts we read them with a metaphysical lens. That means we read beyond the literal and physical meaning. To move through life as a metaphysician means you are skilled in the science of Being; you are a student and teacher of the laws of Spirit—yeah you!

The scripture reads “the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” The Lord your God means “the creative power within us.” It is easy to conjure up the notion of a man in the sky, perhaps in a throne, that we pray to … that’s not what we’re up to at Bodhi. What we know is that “the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” The creative power is with you wherever you go!

Deepening our relationship with the God of our being is one part of our practice this month. And we are in community, which means “You Are Never Alone” in this world either. We’ll dig in on the ways to deepen and expand your sense of community. We’ll explore our capacity and willingness for care, connection, intimacy and belonging.

We look forward to moving from loneliness to deeper waters of connection within, among and beyond.
