How To Beat The Repeat

Opening:

Consider that at any time in life we are operating from one of four states of consciousness – To Me, By Me, Through Me and As Me. We call these the Four Kingdoms of Consciousness or you might call them the Four Ways of Leading.

Objectives:

  • Cultivate self awareness
  • Give up blame and criticism
  • Stop outsourcing your happiness – it’s within
  • Be steadfast in your practice

Keywords/Stories/Points:

    • Victim consciousness (closed and defensiveness) or creator consciousness (open and curious); triggered and reactive or curious and creative
    • We deny or avoid paying attention to the indicators that are ALL around us.
  • SLIDE: If you insist on staying in a place you no longer belong in, you will suffer the consequences. – Iyanla Vanzant
    • No one puts new wine into old wineskins: otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and the wine is lost, and so are the skins: but one puts new wine into fresh wineskins” (Mk. 2:22)
  • SLIDE: You can’t put new ideas into old mind-sets. You can’t get new results with old behaviors. – Wayne Manning
        • Who are you being?
        • What are you doing?
    • “This is just my lot in life.”
      • SLIDE: There is nothing in the Universe that limits us, or that would or could desire to limit us. The idea that God is trying our souls to see whether or not we can take it, so to speak, is nonsense; it is born in ignorance, in superstition, in the night-time of the soul, and has nothing to do with spiritual realization. There is no power in the Universe that tries or tempts us but our own ignorance. …Man is already defeated if he approaches life with the morbid idea that there is some power ready to deny him or to inflict punishment upon him. – It’s Up To You by Ernest Holmes
    • There is NO-THING working against you!
  • SLIDE: Men suffer all their life long, under the foolish superstition that they can be cheated. But it is as impossible for a man to be cheated by any one but himself. – Ralph Waldo Emerson
    • Where, when and how am I still living as if survival is my primary option? As if challenges are my purpose? Imagine living from a place of delight!
  • SLIDE: When we don’t take ourselves too seriously, we will be lifted out of causative thought patterns that hook us into believing we are here simply to cope with existence and overcome challenges. Instead, we will thrive by delighting in the light that we are! – Michael Bernard Beckwith
  • Bring to your mind’s eye an area of life that is thriving
    • Who are you being?
    • What are you doing?

Summary:

SLIDE: How To Wake Up

  • Move from drifting to committing
  • Move from blaming to claiming
  • Move from being right to being curious

Closing:

What a blessing to tune in to the music and message at this spiritual center. A powerful teaching on how to beat the repeat calls for taking time to reflect on where we are in our consciousness and being willing to shift into a higher realm of being that no longer blames others but takes full responsibility for one’s life and continues to commit and recommit to that higher awareness, remaining open and curious as challenges arise to see the part one plays in creating them.. I especially like your mission statement. Namaste. Om Shanti.
