Notes

Opening:

I walked into the kitchen on Tuesday night. It was late. The house was quiet. The kitchen was sprinkled with cinnamon and coconut oil. A drizzle of maple syrup left a trail across the counter arriving at a stack of french toast. I looked at the mess of a kitchen, turned right around and crawled into my bed. The next morning was a flurry of activity. The kids were eager to get front row candy catching spots at the fourth of July parade. Nathan hurried through the kitchen and warmed up a massive pile of leftover french toast for breakfast. I paused. I suspected my daughter made that french toast and expected it to be available when she woke up. Her younger brother and sister just swiftly devoured it. Two hours later Olivia emerged from her bedroom. I happily asked her how she slept. “Well” she said. “I’m going to warm up some french toast I made last night.” I reluctantly said, “I think Nathan ate it all this morning with the kids. He said you told him he could have some.” “Yes, some. I said some.” I could sense this just entered the realm of something much deeper than french toast.

Objectives:

  • Your mental/soul/subconscious mind is your most important domain – internal freedom is your center
  • Finding the space between story and truth – your small self and your higher Self
  • Keep YOU free from suffering through kindness, compassion and forgiveness in relationship to others and self.

Keywords/Stories/Points:

    • Complete well-being – found within not without
  • SLIDE: Freedom – The quality or state of being without thought or restraint, bondage, limitation, or repression; having a sense of complete well-being. It is a result of regulating one’s life according to Principle (Universal Truth, I AM Presence), not according to what anyone else may think or say. – The Revealing Word: A Dictionary of Metaphysical Terms by Charles Fillmore
  • SLIDE: Freedom – having a sense of complete well-being through regulating one’s life according to Truth not story or opinion
          • We are living in a time of hyper reactivity. We are challenged in finding our own center. We are overstimulated and bombarded with opinion. We’ve lost our sense of distinction between Truth and opinion.
            • SLIDE: When all else fails to organize the people, conditions will. – Marcus Garvey
    • The distinction between Truth and story
  • SLIDE: Freedom – The understanding of Truth – Infinite Principle – is the emancipator. We are bound by our very freedom; our free will binds us. The Universe cannot refuse us anything. The very force that makes us sick can heal us. As man realizes his Oneness with Creative Mind, he is released from the bondage of false thinking. – Science of Mind Glossary
    • Gently navigating our reactivity to liberate ourselves from suffering
  • SLIDE: Begin to get real in the places where we are most reactive. Out of kindness begin with a willingness to untangle what is going on in you. – Tara Brach
    • Existential Suffering
      • “Why me?” – taking it personally.
      • You are a SPIRITUAL BEING
      • Shift in identity from your small self to your universal self.
    • If God/Universal Intelligence is all there is – if nothing is separate from the One than how can atrocities exist? How can evil exist? We are bound by our freedom – it is done unto us as we believe.
  • SLIDE: The world of multiplicity is deep-rooted in a Universe of Unity; that nothing happens by chance; that we live under a government of Law. The furtherance of evolution depends upon our ability to sense a unity with Nature and her forces. When the knowledge of this unity comes alike to all, the treat of armies will cease and the bugle call will echo the soft notes of (brotherly) love. – Science of Mind p. 103-104
    • The world of appearances is the outpicturing of state(s) of consciousness – individually and collectively: understanding the distinction between story (reactivity) and Truth (activity).
  • SLIDE: Each individual maintains his identity in Law, through his personal use of Law, and each is drawing from Life what he thinks into it. To learn how to think is to learn how to live. Man, by thinking, can bring into his experience whatever he desires if he thinks correctly. This is done by knowing the Truth which too few realize. – Science of Mind p. 12
    • You say yes to leading you say yes to feedback/critique/opinions
      • When you say yes to leading in the realm of consciousness and provoking awakening or self reflection you say yes to an infinite supply of feedback/critique/opinion. For me, this is the greatest practice of exploring my soul and that which I believe.
    • The pain of separation is under all suffering. Keep your heart open by paying attention to your stories and feeling.
  • SLIDE: Keeping your heart open while honoring your struggle and speaking your truth is a devotional practice. This practice is a transcendent move from duality where right and wrong and self protection exist to unitive consciousness where Love is your Source and there is no-thing out there that can hurt you. – Lola Wright
  • Your identity/ego will loosen its grip as you develop greater capacity for kindness, compassion and forgiveness – in every moment I can release judgement and know that each being is doing the best they can.
    • White Women Get Woke
      • Realizing it’s not personal is liberating.

Summary:

  • Interrogate your interior.
    • Don’t believe your thoughts. Don’t believe your thoughts. Don’t believe your thoughts.

Closing:
