Rev. Lola P. Wright grew up in Chicago. She was raised by a family of spiritual seekers. Lola began her own journey of faith around the age of 22 when she found herself as a single mom of two young children.
Rev. Lola began attending Bodhi in 2005. She enthusiastically served and voraciously took classes for the next several years. The teachings and community transformed her life and in 2007 Lola met her husband Nathan at Bodhi. Lola completed her Ministerial training at Emerson Theological Institute. Lola has studied with Mary Manin Morrissey and the Life Mastery Institute, Landmark Worldwide and Jim Morningstar at Transformations.
Lola married her professional experience from years with major financial institutions and her spiritual quest. She is known for her commitment, dedication and perseverance. Her playful and joyful spirit is infectious. And her complete devotion to authentic and clear communication powerfully impacts the people she serves and loves. Lola and Nathan have been married since 2007 and have four children Laurand (17), Trey (15), Caroline (6) and J.P. (3).
Rev. Mark Anthony Lord received his training at Unity, Agape International Spiritual Center and Oneness University in India. He is the author of two books: 7 Living Words and Thou Shall Not Suffer: 7 Steps to a Life of Joy.
In the summer of 2003, Rev. Mark Anthony gathered a dozen people in his Chicago living room. This small group grew each week and on November 23, 2003 Bodhi Spiritual Center opened its doors in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. Rev. Mark Anthony served as Bodhi’s Senior Minister for 11 years completing his tenure in August of 2014.
Bodhi Spiritual Center is led by a group of dedicated and inspired community members. These members serve prayerfully to see that the organization fulfills its Purpose.
Our current Core Council includes Patrick Jean-Baptiste, Jim Atkinson, Jonathan Hoffman, Pat Levy, Denise Maple and Rev. Lola P. Wright.
